Sea Shell Card Dies from Honey Bee Stamps

Happy August Everyone!!

I had so much fun creating and trying different techniques with the new Sea Shell Card Dies. I played with several cool products and made lots of cards in the process! I've added a video below detailing how I created each of the sea shell cards. I hope you'll take the time to watch! If you'd rather watch on YouTube, please check out the Honey Bee Stamps channel HERE!

Thanks for watching! All the supplies used are found in the supply list at the end of this post!

All of the "background" pieces of the shells were made by die cutting Bristol Card Stock and then ink blending with Broken China and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks. The detailed layer above was created by adding Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder to the die cut layer. This layer was first coated with Versamark Ink and then dipped into the embossing powder. I used a heat tool to melt the powder until smooth. I repeated this step 3 times to make the powder thick and metallic looking.

This background layer I added subtle shimmer to, by dusting with Perfect Pearls before the oxide inks were dry. It's so hare to capture the beautiful shimmer on camera or in photos. In real life, the Perfect Pearls adds the perfect sea shell shimmer.

After adding the Distress Oxide Inks to this layer, I used 3 different sizes of pain brushes to add water spots to the background. I love the random, tie-dye, spotted effect of the oxide reaction when the water droplets are added.

This is iridescent paper cut with the background layer die. I added Mother of Pearl Nuvo Mousse to the detail layer and adhered it over the shimmery paper.

I adhered the negative pieces from the previous Nuvo Mousse layer to create this card. I added these layers onto the sea shell shaped card and then stamped my greeting in the inside of the card, as seen below.

The large pearl is also included in the Sea Shell Card Die set. I die cut it from shimmery pearl paper and added it to the inside with a tiny bit of foam tape. All the greetings for these cards are from the Mermaid Song stamp set. They were inked in Versamark Ink and embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder.
