A Little Creepy & A Little Cute....Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness Blog today with a couple of halloween cards. I've put together a step by step video on how to achieve a bright and shiny "night sky" or "galaxy" background.

We'd love to see your creations! Please tag us #katscrappiness and #inkohoutsdesign on Instagram!

Thanksgiving Place Cards using the Avery Elle Dies!

Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me. I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness Blog today sharing these Thanksgiving Place Cards using the Avery Elle Card Easel Dies.
This project is in preparation for Thanksgiving dinner. My husband is in the Air Force and it's seldom that we get to go to our home towns for the holidays. A few years back we started inviting other Air Force couples and families to have Thanksgiving dinner with us. I thought I'd make it a little more special this year by adding place cards to decorate our table.

In Honor of Tiffany!

Hi everyone! Today's project is in honor of my dear friend Tiffany Harrell Gunther. She had this tattooed on her wrist shortly before she passed away this last July. She fought Triple Negative Breast Cancer for about 2 years. She remained strong, faithful, and an amazing inspiration till the very end. This was the perfect sentiment for her. Her life story isn't over. Her character and values live on through her many friends and sweet family. We are still amazed by her grace and can only try and emulate what we saw in her.

Many thanks to Newton's Nook for creating this Awareness Stamp set! All of the supplies used are from Kat Scrappiness and are listed below!

World Card Making Day!

Happy October everyone & Happy World Card Making Day!!

Today I'm sharing a Fall color themed card using masks and Distress Inks.

First, using the Gina Marie Designs Fern dies and masking paper, I die cut many of the fern pieces to mask of the areas that I wanted to stay white while I was color blending.

I chose to use watercolor paper for the background, because I knew after I added the Distress Inks, I would be misting with water to add more texture. Misting your Distress Inks with water, and then dabbing with a paper towel, pulls up the color only in the spots where misted. So you get a dark background with lighter spots.

Using Versamark sticky matermark ink, I stamped the beautiful "Grateful" from the Mudra Grateful stamp set onto heavy vellum. I covered with Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder and heat set. Next, I fussy cut around the scripty sentiment.

For the rest of the sentiment, I prepped a scrap piece of black card stock with my anti-static powder tool. Using the "So Very" from the same Mudra stamp set, I stamped it in Versamark ink and covered it with white embossing powder and then heat set. I die cut the black piece using the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Fishtail Banner dies

Here is the card all put together! I added my sentiment pieces to the ink blended background, and then finished the card by adding several Kat Scrappiness Sequins in Autumn Harvest
